Erick Updates: June 2006

A Pic and A Letter

There haven't been any new pics posted of people. This was the latest one up on the Charlie Company site, not exactly easy to look at, but it's reality.

I got a letter from Erick on Sunday after returning from Katie and Martin's wedding (which was BEAUTIFUL!) He said it's still very hot and when he's not working there isn't much to do, they entertain themselves as best as possible. He said the night they got Zarqawi there were a lot of raids in Fallujah. They got a guy with bomb making material and another person working on encrypting our codes. I don't have the letter on me, I'll bring it tomorrow and put up more accurate details of its contents.

He specifically said "keep the motomail coming." Which was probably in response to me asking if he thinks he has the dumbest sister in the world based on the stuff I write which is rather nonsensical, especially compared to what he's dealing with.

Hartford Courant

The Hartford Courant was imbedded with Charlie Company in Fallujah. Here is a link to the area of the Courant's website with Charlie Company articles and pics. There are some great pictures on there, unfortunately none of OUR Marine, but they are still good pics.

Erick's Sgt. has updated the list of the things the marines need if you are interested for the purpose of sending packages. He said they are pretty set for now with hygiene products and DO NOT need q-tips, mouth wash, tooth paste, tooth brushes, soap etc. until further notice, but DO NEED the following.
-Flavor Ice or Similar popsicles, I think the ones in plastic. they have a freezer
-Pillows
-Tuna (in a can)
-Chicken (in a can which I didn't know they made, but according to Sgt. Grainger they do)
-Posters of American Vacation Spots
-Little Debbies
-Pop Tarts
-Easy mac
-Plastic Drop cloths
-Plastic tubs (to keep food away from rats)
-Microwave mini cans (soup, spaghetti, chili)
-Air freshners
-Boot Insoles

Mom heard from Erick last week. He said it is HOT HOT HOT there. He is doing pretty well. There has been a lot of action. That's about it.

IS IT HIM??

I am probably REALLY REALLY pushing it, but that guy, circled in red could be Erick (click on pic. to enlarge). Does anyone agree with me??

I think it looks just like the top of his head!

I'm going to go with it being him, just for fun. It's fun to find him in pics, so far we have the back of his head and the top of his head maybe next time we'll get THE WHOLE THING!

Here are more pictures that have been posted. I don't see Erick in any of them, but put up a few group shots and interesting ones. Maybe Erick is in one of the groups and I'm missing him? Let me know if you see him. It's interesting seeing the guys he's with and some of the stuff he is doing.
