Katie and Martin got a Letter
Dear Katie and Martin,
I would like to begin by saying congratulations on the wedding! By knowing the two of you I'm sure that everyone had an awesome time. I would have given up anything to be there on your wedding day but the chain of command wasn't really feeling it.
Well not too much is new here in Iraq. We actually just got hit with mortars about a half hour ago but they didn't land on anything of significance so it didn't really matter. As I'm sure you're both aware it is obviously pretty hot here, the other day it was 130 degrees when we were on some rooftop. It's actually kind of funny, your water gets so warm that when you drink it, it only makes you more thirsty. Other than a few little things here and there, it's been pretty quiet around us. I think it's still a little too early to tell whether or not the death of Zarqawi has had an influence on the insurgency.
The other day I also received a package from you and want to thank you for it. The contents were not only enjoyed by myself but the whole squad as well.
Before I go, I would like to say congratulations again for the wedding and let you know that I am happy for you. Thanks again for the package and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Martin take care, Katie love you.
Erick
